A superb and rare matching pair of very large size Arts & Crafts/Art Nouveau Royal Doulton Stoneware Vase by Eliza Simmance in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
 
Highly unusual to be decorated with the Mackintosh stylised Glasgow rose and trellis motifs, this is the first time we have seen Doulton stoneware decorated in this style.
 
The designs are highlighted in mottled mauve, black and green glazes set on an ochre background on an elegant baluster form shape, a real statement and a most imposing matching pair of large vases in immaculate condition.

Marked: Incised E.S. Royal Doulton England with date letter 'i' for 1908
