Rare Jesson & Birkett WAS Benson/Powell Arts and Crafts Copper Chandelier & Wall Lights
A complete and highly rare matching suite of Arts and Crafts lighting comprising planished copper chandelier with matching wall lights by the Jesson Birkett and Company of Birmingham fully complete and importantly retaining their perfect original matching set of James Powell/WAS Benson candy stripe vaseline "jellyfish" glass shades (made for both WAS Benson and Jesson and Birkett) retaining its patented rich original iridescent metallic patina.
From the Jesson and Birkett catalogue 'A Selection of Light Fittings' the chandelier is very similar to model number E1317.
The beautiful organic design and execution is both technically skilled and highly accomplished and a most rare find recently removed from an Aberdeenshire industrialists architect designed granite home.
