Important large Ruskin high fired pottery vase on stand 1926.
An important large high-fired Ruskin Pottery vase with matching stand fired in rich crimson glazes with speckled green and blue transmutations.
Of imposing presence, the large shouldered vase sits on a substantial stand with tapered legs, both of which are finely potted.
The glazes are well fired and controlled and most unusually the vase has identical glazes to its interior, a testament to Taylors advanced techniques.
The vase on stand was reputedly made by Taylor for the American market only due to its high cost and was commissioned by special order by a collector of his work.
