A superb quality and rare example of a Benham and Froud lidded brass coal/log bin or scuttle designed by Dr Christopher Dresser.
 
Based on a stylised acorn, the stylish organic form is a classic example of Dressers ingenious and useful design output.
 
Of superb quality, it is rare to find examples made entirely from solid brass throughout its structure, they are usually seen with a copper body mounted in an iron stand.
